Statistics on experience of volunteering: findings from the 2025/26 Continuous Household Survey.

The bulletin presents analysis, including by demographic group and area, on the following topics:

engagement in volunteering including both formal and informal volunteering
types of organisations volunteered with
types of volunteering activities
frequency and time spent volunteering
benefits experienced as a result of volunteering
factors that would encourage volunteering

Note: In 2023/24 questions relating to volunteering were reviewed to improve collection of data relating to informal volunteering. As a result of these changes figures for 2023/24 to 2025/26 are not directly comparable to previous years.
